There are many safety implications with mezzanine floors. UK building control requires that mezzanine flooring complies to certain standards but not all mezzanine suppliers adhere to this. What’s more, different floors have different load-bearing capacities according to their intended use - install the wrong one and you’re headed for trouble.

Because we’re specialists, we’ve encountered every variety and we’re pretty sure we know everything there is to know about mezzanines and what’s needed to make them – and you! - safe and legally compliant.

Mezzanine Flooring

Depending on how you plan to use your new space, we can advise and design the appropriate load-bearing capacity for your retail / commercial mezzanine, office mezzanine and your storage / warehouse mezzanine.

Even if your business doesn’t fall into one of these categories, one of our floors will usually suit your purposes, unless of course your building isn’t able to accommodate a mezzanine. This is something we will tell you straight away, as part of our initial survey.

All our floors comply to UK building control standards.

Staircases and Landings

Storage / warehouse staircases, (Part K).

Retail / office / commercial staircases – these are wider, with different treads (Part M).

All our staircases have distinguishable tread nosings as standard.

Safety Gates

If you plan to install a storage / warehouse mezzanine you’ll need the right design and size of safety gate to allow you to forklift pallets etc up to the mezzanine. We can offer various options which include oversize pallet gates for larger loads.

Handrails

Safety is paramount and we can advise on the safest and most aesthetically pleasing design for your environment.

Our hand / Knee rail and toe plates are without question the most robust available today. Unlike some other suppliers our toe plate is formed from 100mm high flat sided steel oval which slots into the centre of the handrail posts.

Column Casings

These not only provide a great finish to your mezzanine columns but are also an essential tool in providing fire protection to the steel. Dependent on the size and use of your mezzanine floor these may be a necessity and we will be happy to advise you on this.

Racking

We now offer reconditioned / used racking. All our racking is stripped and powder coated to give an as new appearance but offering huge savings against new. Please contact us with your requirements for a free no obligation quote.

Finishing Touches

Partitioning systems – Unlike many other mezzanine floor companies, we install our own partition systems so you’re not left with an empty shell.

Suspended ceilings – As well as making sure your finished mezzanine / office looks the part, suspended ceilings will give fire protection of up to two hours to comply with all current legislation.

Electrical Installations - We can arrange all the required electrical work for your new Mezzanine. This could include Lighting / emergency lighting, Smoke detection, Data installations or Air conditioning.

Flooring – Mezzanine Floors can arrange the floor covering of your choice through the tried and trusted specialists we work with.
